9 Full-time 2 days ago Full Job Description Hospitalist APP will work in collaboration with hospitalist physician to manage care for all types of inpatients on the medical/surgical unit and the intensive care unit at Uintah Basin Medical Center.
Hospitalist APP working collaboratively with Physician will make daily rounds, prescribe medications, make appropriate adjustments in daily care including medication dosages and make recommendations for other forms of therapeutic treatment.
APP will assist in the Emergency Department when scheduled to cover nights in the Hospitalist Program and will perform similar duties as mentioned above when seeing patients in the ED.
APP will also document patient care as performed into UBMC electronic medical records as required.
Daily Functions APP will function within the scope of practice as defined by the State of Utah Nurse Practice Act or Physician Assistant Act.

APP will function within the scope of practice as defined by the Supervising Physician.
APP will work in collaboration and consultation with supervising physician and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients' health problems and needs.
APP will perform patient history and physical examination to determine a working diagnosis and in consultation with physician, will develop an individualized plan of care for each patient.
APP will order and assist in interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests as well as pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies.
For uncommon or unstable conditions, APP will in consultation with his/her collaborating/supervising physician, refer to or treat and transport to the appropriate facility.
Prescriptions may be provided by APP, where clinically indicated, and shall be in accordance with the current APP guidelines and in accordance with State and Federal Law.
Proper documentation of medications prescribed and refills authorized will be reflected in the patients chart.
Minimum Requirements Continuing Education APP will stay current with medical trends and provide evidence-based practice by completing CME requirements of UBMC and APP's certifying organization.
The autonomous nature of the APP requires accountability for healthcare outcomes.
Insuring the highest quality of care requires national certification, periodic peer review, clinical outcome evaluations, adherence to the code for ethical practice, evidence of continuing professional development and maintenance of clinic skills.
Minimum Qualifications Graduate from a Master's Level Program Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner and DEA License required prior to full-time practice.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
